Building: Clothing

Pieces of clothing are regular items, with two special properties: wornon and wornlevel. Wornon is the body part, and wornlevel represents at what layer it is considered to be worn, and thus what clothes can be worn in combination.

Wornon is either a single value or a comma-separated from the following:

  • body
  • head
  • finger
  • neck
  • back
  • lapel
  • allover
or
both either left right
legs leg leftleg rightleg
feet foot leftfoot rightfoot
arms arm leftarm rightarm
wrists wrist leftwrist rightwrist
hands hand lefthand righthand
thumbs thumb leftthumb rightthumb
eyes eye lefteye righteye
ears ear leftear rightear

You can only wear one object on any particular location at a particular level, but you can, for example, wear shoes over socks. The values we suggest for different types of clothing are shown in this table:

feet legs body head eyes hands arms finger neck lapel back
0 socks pants vest glasses
1 shoes shorts shirt mask goggles gloves
2 overshoes uniform helmet overgloves bandage
3 overtrousers hat backpack
4 shield torch jewelry
5 spacesuit (allover)

You can wear objects of a higher wornlevel over objects of a lower one. for example, I can wear shoes on top of socks, but not socks in top of shoes.

Environment suits - eg Spacesuits, radiation suits, should be set to wornlevel 5 and wornon "allover"

If you set "heal" on an object when worn it will disappear and heal you by that much.

Flags that can be set on clothing -

If you set "pockets" on an object when worn it will increase your inventory slots by that amount whilst worn.

Clothing can be armoured. Set armour to the armour rating.

If you set a body property on an item of clothing, it can only be worn by people with that exact species.
