The Cryosphere is an online text-based game (MUD) unlike any other, combining narrative design with a bespoke science fiction scenario.
It's the distant space year of 2063 and you are a raw recruit entering through the Academy. As you work your way up through the ranks by performing missions, you will explore the frontier, engage in espionage, test the boundaries of a fragile peace, and ultimately achieve the rank of Commander.
The Cryosphere is an original MUD, drawing inspiration from AberMUD and CRPGs, and from Elite and Paranoia. We have a detailed conversation tree system alongside the the usual MUD mainstay features like equipment saving, stores, banks, etc, along with our own starships and in-game training simulations.
We are pleased to announce we have moved to a new site and have now relaunched our web client, which allows you connect from your browser, without installing any software.
